# ToxFinder

> Published cosmetic injectable (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, Daxxify, Letybo) prices from US clinics, normalized to a price per Botox-equivalent unit and traced to the page each came from. 26 US metros, 1754 priced clinics, refreshed roughly quarterly (this build: 2026-10-19). ## What the numbers mean

- Every clinic has one headline, `pricing.normalized_price`, in US dollars per Botox-equivalent unit (`usd_per_botox_equivalent_unit`). It is ToxFinder's normalization of what the clinic published, not a price the clinic advertised. Dysport units convert at 2.5 native units per Botox-equivalent unit and Daxxify at 2, unless the clinic already quotes them in Botox-equivalent terms; Xeomin, Jeuveau and Letybo at 1:1; an unbranded unit price under $7 is not converted; a flat per-area price is divided by a typical dose for that area.
- `basis_source` says how the headline was derived and must be reported with it: `stated` (a standing per-unit or per-package rate on the clinic's own site), `member/promo` (a member-only or promotional rate; real but conditional) or `derived` (an estimate from a per-area price, lower confidence). A clinic's headline is the median of its prices in the best tier available; tiers are never blended.
- `confidence` (0 to 1) multiplies extraction certainty by conversion certainty. Headlines below 0.5 are not published. Normalized prices outside $4 to $40 are rejected as extraction errors.
- Each price row keeps three things apart: `advertised` (the clinic's own text, product, basis and figures), `normalized` (the per-Botox-equivalent-unit figure, the conversion path, any assumed dose) and `provenance` (source URL, date read, extractor, corroborating pages). Quote advertised figures from `advertised`, never from `normalized`.
- Clinic sites are re-read periodically, roughly quarterly; every row carries `observed_at`. Tell users to confirm with the clinic before booking. Most clinics in a metro publish no price at all, so coverage figures describe what was found, not the market.
- No clinic pays to be listed or to rank. Prices are in USD and cover cosmetic neurotoxin injections only; dermal filler is captured but never normalized.

## Identifiers

- Clinic ids are URL slugs (the last segment of a clinic page, /{market}/{id}/); they are issued once and never recomputed.
- Market ids are metro keys, as listed above.
- Observation ids are 64-character hashes from `provenance.observation_id`; they are stable across re-crawls.

## Limits and etiquette

- Public, read-only, no key. Rate limited per caller (60 requests a minute sustained, with a burst of 60); a 429 carries Retry-After. Page size is 1 to 100.
